Private notes online
Note Newt is a place to keep private notes online without handing your thoughts to an ad-profiling giant. Every note is encrypted with AES-256 on your device before it's stored, and you can start with no signup at all.
Two levels of privacy
Default: your notes are encrypted and only you can read them in the app; we hold a key so that a lost device can still recover your notes after you sign in.
Zero-knowledge: add a passphrase and your encryption key is derived from it and never leaves your device. At that point we cannot read your notes even if we wanted to — the server only ever stores unreadable ciphertext.
Private by design
- No third-party trackers or analytics scripts.
- A strict content-security-policy — no foreign JavaScript runs next to your notes.
- Works offline as an installable app.
